Every guy who works out knows that to get bigger muscles you need to eat enough protein. Without the amino acids found in protein; your muscles will just not grow, regardless of how many hours you put in at the gym or how much weight you lift. Without the building blocks you cannot build anything and as the body has no substitute for protein you need to ensure you are getting the right amount.

To increase muscle mass and get bigger the general rule is to consume 1-1.5g of protein per lb of body weight each day. That’s a lot of protein to try and consume from just food every day. Most people would struggle doing this for 1 day let alone every day of the week. So the dilemma is, you need to get more protein in a more convenient way. Remember, if you don’t consume enough protein you’re wasting all that effort and time you’re spending in the gym!

The simple answer to this is to supplement your diet. Supplement using protein shakes, each shake can provide up to 40g of quality, nutritious protein and won’t leave you feeling bloated like after a big meal. Protein shakes are made with protein powder which is then mixed with either water or milk to form a shake. By consuming two of these a day (1 after workout is ideal) you can get an extra 80g of protein from just shakes. All that hard work at the gym will be worth it now you have a sufficient intake of protein.
