Lyle and Scott knitwear
Lyle and Scott is one of the fastest growing brands in the UK today, everyone recognises that little golden eagle logo and everyone and their dog have heard of Lyle and Scott. With more men opting for a pastel v-neck jumper than ever before it looks like Lyle and Scott will continue to dominate the high end knitwear market with their Lyle and Scott Jumper range.
Founded in 1874 in the Scottish town of Hawick by William Lyle and Walter Scott and were initially influenced by the infamous Pringle brand. However, it wasn’t until 1926 they actually started to make knitted outerwear, in the beginning they started out making hosiery and underwear!
In 1926 their new goal was to create high quality knitwear, at the time their focus was far from fashion and solely about quality clothing.
Now with every designer outlet and fashion store selling some sort of Lyle and Scott clothing the brand has slowly become one of the most fashionable cult brands in England. From footballers to celebrities, youths to lad-dads, the infamous gold eagle logo can be spotted anywhere and everywhere you go.
Prices generally start from £70 for an original V-neck Lyle and Scott jumper and some styles retail around £90. The Green eagle golfing range is generally much cheaper than the more fashionable gold eagle and the heritage range can be more or less the same as the gold eagle clothing prices. However there have been a lot of fake merchandise released onto the market lately so make sure you buy from a reputable source!
